THE HISTORY OF THE BIOMEDIC MASTER ESTABLISHMENT
The establishment of the Masters Program in Biomedical Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, Diponegoro University, started with the idea of the Director of the Postgraduate Program at Diponegoro University, Semarang, which was followed up with an agreement by the lecturers of the Faculty of Medicine to establish a Masters Program in Biomedical Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, Diponegoro University, Semarang.
Finally, on 19th September, 1996, the Decree of Higher Education No. 469/DIKTI/Kep/1996 was published concerning the Establishment of a Masters Program in Biomedical Sciences at Diponegoro University. In connection with the issuance of the decree, the election of the Chair and Secretary of the Biomedical Sciences Masters Study Program was held. In the end, the Chairperson and Secretary of the Master Program in Biomedical Sciences at Diponegoro University were first selected and appointed by the Chancellor of Diponegoro University as follows : The chairman is the late. Prof.Dr.dr. Tjahjono, Sp.PA(K), FIAC and the Secretary is Prof.dr. Edi Dharmana, M.Sc, PhD, Sp.ParK with a tenure of office until 1st September, 2000.
In the early days, 12 students were accepted, 3 of whom graduated with Cum Laude predicate, namely Dr. MG Isworo Rukmini, M.Kes, dr. Nyoman Suci Widyastiti, M.Kes and Tauhid Nur Azhar, M.Kes.
The study program initially held lectures with concentrations in Pathobiology, Immunology, Reproductive Welfare and Biomedical Nutrition. Starting in 2001, special classes were held for PPDS 1 FK Undip with the aim of improving the quality of graduation from several collegiums of PPDS 1 FK Undip with double degree graduates. At the beginning of this period 23 participants of the PPDS 1 special class were accepted from Pediatrics, Surgery, Anesthesia, ENT-HN and Anatomical Pathology.
Until now, this study program has graduated hundreds of students and is currently accredited with A Lam-PT Kes in 2019.
